Copy to Layer

Copy to Layer can be accessed by right clicking on Copyimage\COPY.gif

COPY TO LAYER copies selected entities to a different layer leaving the originals in place.

Select entities to copy using the Entity Selection dialog box.

The prompt reads "Layer Name [dialog]:". CC3 is asking for the layer to which the selected entities will be copied. You can:

· Type in an existing layer name and press ENTER. CC3 copies the entities to the selected layer and terminates the command.

· Right-click to display the Select Layer dialog box.

3. Highlight the target layer in the list and choose the Select button (the layer name in the list should have a check in the first check box). Choose OK to accept the selection and close the dialog box.

CC3 copies the entities to the selected layer and terminates the command. You can verify the command’s proper operation with the LIST command (Info > List).

To move the entities to a new layer:

Use the CHANGE-LAYER command (Edit > Change > Layer).
