Change Layer

Right click Change Properties image\MCHANGE.gif to select Change Layer.

CHANGE LAYER changes the layer property of a selection of layers. If you don’t use layers when placing symbols, this is the command to use to correct the drawing.

  1. Select entities to modify.

  2. The prompt reads "Layer name [dialog]:". To select a new layer:

· Type an existing layer name and press ENTER.

· Right-click to display the Select Layer dialog box.

If you typed in a layer name, CC3 moves the entity to the target layer, and the command terminates.

  1. If you use the Select Layer dialog box, highlight the name of the target layer.

  2. Choose the OK button to close the Select Layer dialog box.

CC3 moves the entity to the target layer, and the command terminates.

Important: Use of this command does not change the current layer unless you select "Set current layer". Note that the "L:" setting on the Status Bar does not change. To change the active layer, click the Layer indicator.

Note: In the Select Layer dialog box, you may choose the Add button, define a new layer, then immediately select it as the entity’s new layer.

To duplicate existing entities from layer to layer:

Use the COPY TO LAYER command (Copy > Copy to Layer).
