Fill with Symbols

To fill an area with symbols, on the Draw menu, click Fill with Symbols.

FILL WITH SYMBOLS is used primarily to fill areas with forests, although it can be adapted to fill areas with other randomly selected symbols. Some of these are already built into draw tools. Fill with Symbols uses the Default Symbol Scale set in Drawing Properties.

  1. Create some filled areas using, for example, polygons or multipolies.

  2. On the Draw menu, click Fill with Symbols.

  3. Click Load to choose a saved setting, or choose your own settings.

  4. Click Run Now and select entities to fill with symbols.
